OUR MISSION
At OBB Cares, we focus on harnessing OBB Media’s unique position in the entertainment industry – through our Employees, Storytelling, and Studios – to inspire big, bold and sustainable social change.
Following the leadership of our nonprofit partners, we are currently focused on inspiring Civic and Community Engagement nationally and in our own home of Los Angeles, California.

EMPLOYEES
Heal the Bay
Since 2019, OBB has worked with Heal the Bay, an environmental nonprofit dedicated to making the coastal waters and watersheds in Greater Los Angeles safe, healthy, and clean.
We have participated in Heal the Bay’s Adopt-A-Beach program to pick up trash at beaches and in our watersheds in LA County, and contribute to data collection that is critical to Heal the Bay’s clean water mission to educate, support local legislation, and advocate for the health of our waterways.

Good City Mentors
In 2021, OBB team members mentored local Los Angeles high school students through the organization Good City Mentors, which works to partner inspiring professionals and creative brands with local high schools.
Their innovative team-mentoring model creates a mentoring community where everyone is invested in the success of others.

Adopt-A-Family
Throughout the years, OBB Cares has sponsored a family in need through Los Angeles County’s Adopt-A-Family program around the holidays.
As a team, we shop for, wrap, and deliver gifts of clothing, toys, and food to families.

Project Angel Food
In 2019, OBB team members worked with Project Angel Food, an organization that prepares and delivers healthy meals to feed people impacted by serious illness.
Declared an essential service during COVID-19, Project Angel Food has expanded to meet the moment and the need throughout Los Angeles County to deliver medically tailored meals and nutritional counseling services to more than 2,400 people per day.

Covenant House
In 2022, OBB was honored to spend time with youth at Covenant House California, a non-profit youth shelter that provides sanctuary and support for young people overcoming homelessness and trafficking, ages 18 to 24.
We sponsored lunch, fulfilled items from their Amazon holidays wishlist, and led an arts expression activity in partnership with students from The Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising (FIDM).

Community Services Unlimited
The OBB team joined Community Services Unlimited (CSU) for a day of gardening and learning at their CSU/EXPO Urban Mini Farm in 2023. CSU is a nonprofit based in South Central Los Angeles that creates food justice-driven programs and educational initiatives for the community. Their mission is to address the inequalities and systemic barriers that make sustainable and self-reliant communities unattainable.
OBB Cares has been grateful to work with the teams at CSU and Village Market Place, CSU’s social enterprise, to source local ingredients for what’s in my kitchen? with Hailey Rhode Bieber.

STORYTELLING
Alexandria House
In 2020, OBB Pictures and OBB Cares worked with Justin Bieber, SB Projects, and Universal Music to develop and produce Justin Bieber’s official music video INTENTIONS featuring Quavo, in collaboration with the incredible women of Alexandria House.
Alexandria House is a transitional home that provides safe and supportive housing for women and children who have experienced domestic violence, trauma, and homelessness.
In addition to featuring women at Alexandria House in the video, the team established an Intentions Fund at Alexandria House with a $200,000 gift and crowdfunding link, inspiring audiences to support the organization. With help from the Intentions Fund, women at Alexandria House have been able to continue pursuing their college degrees and secure housing and transportation.
For Women’s History Month in 2020, we also partnered with Girl Gang to create a capsule collection benefitting Alexandria House.
As a result of the wide scale reach and exposure of the video, Alexandria House has seen an 800% increase in web traffic and more than 200 new incoming donations from around the world.

Comedy. By Blake
In 2018, Blake Griffin hosted his second annual Comedy. By Blake. standup showcase event featuring performances by Ali Wong, Bill Burr, Michelle Wolf, Ron Taylor and Sam Jay.
OBB Cares was proud to sponsor and help produce content for the event, which were screened as intermittent entertainment and released online by Red Bull.
Proceeds of the evening were donated to the Team Griffin Foundation, an organization committed to young men and women - providing them the best opportunities to develop skills and learn essential life lessons.

Hollywood Food Coalition
In 2022, OBB Cares and OBB Sound teamed up with Zach Sang, Gopuff, and Fanmade to support the Hollywood Food Coalition, who have provided hunger relief to unhoused and low-income neighbors through hot, high-quality meals served every single night of the year, without fail, since 1987.
The video was launched across socials alongside a matching fundraising campaign thanks to Gopuff, and helped shine a light on Hollywood Food Coalition’s newest program, the Community Exchange, which recovers food that would otherwise go to landfills and distributes it to nonprofits across LA County.
We also work to recover surplus food from OBB Studios’ sets to donate to Hollywood Food Coalition’s Community Exchange.

STUDIOS

ManifestWorks
OBB Cares and OBB Studios are thrilled to work with ManifestWorks, a nonprofit organization that connects those impacted by foster care, homelessness and incarceration with job opportunities and provides ongoing life and professional skills to support long-term success.
