Child Star, Demi Lovato's directorial debut, deconstructs the highs and lows of growing up in the spotlight through the lens of some of the world’s most famous former child stars, including Lovato. The film explores how children are propelled to superstardom at a young age and how their rise to fame, fortune and power affects their futures. Following Child Star’s no. 1 release globally, Lovato and Producer Michael D. Ratner were invited to join Governor Gavin Newsom as he signed legislation enacting new legal protections for child stars and influencers.
