Vice President, Development & Production

Miranda Sherman is a Vice President of Development & Production at OBB, where she runs development and production of OBB’s comedy and auteur slates, Pilot Season projects, independent feature film ventures, and OBB’s internship program.

In a targeted effort to discover exciting emerging voices, Miranda originated OBB’s partnership with the NYU Production Lab’s 2018 Episodic Development Studio and leads the selection and development of its projects for OBB.

Prior to joining OBB Pictures, Miranda co-founded the NYU Production Lab and supervised research fellows at the Cinema Research Institute at the Tisch School of the Arts, a think tank dedicated to developing innovative models of film finance, marketing, and distribution. At the NYU Production Lab, a film incubator, she oversaw the development and packaging, marketing, and distribution of slated films, represented films and filmmakers to the Lab’s network, and devised financial models for the Lab’s investments in film and television projects. She associate-produced Jess dela Merced’s WAIT ‘TIL THE WOLVES MAKE NICE, which premiered at SXSW, and has been producing and directing content and live events since 2013.

Miranda earned her BA in Integrated Marketing Communications from the Gallatin School of Individualized Study and her MA in Cinema Studies from the Tisch School of the Arts, both at New York University. She is an avid listener of podcasts, a student of sitcoms and contemporary stand-up comedy, and a fan of Beyoncé and Leonard Cohen, in equal parts.
